One Stop Systems’ SCSI hard drive shuttles hold up to
four removable SCSI hard drives with SCA (Single Connector Attachment)connectors.
The shuttles are easily removed with a thumb latch and handle
and occupy only three slots of space in a 6U card cage. They
provide an ideal storage solution for the data com/telecom applications
requiring alot of hard drive capacity in a small area.
The 6U
x 12 HP carrier shell houses the four latching canisters, each
with mounting provisions for a 3-1/2" hard drive. Each
canister contains a green LED, denoting hard drive activity.
A single backplane mounts in the card cage behind the carrier
shell and contains four SCA connectors which combine the 68-pin
wide SCSI connector with power and ground which allows the drives
to be disconnected and inserted without connecting additional
lines. All SCSI signals are routed as differential pairs and
matched impedance to comply with SCSI electrical standards.
Due
to the physical proximity of the drives the shuttles lend themselves
well to drive mirroring and RAID 5 (Redundant Array of Independent
Drives) configurations with the use of a RAID controller or software
controlled RAID.
