The One Stop Systems Quad High Speed Serial Board with Rear I/O is a four-channel high speed CompactPCI serial adapter. This adapter provides both RS232 and RS485/422 interfaces with an 8-bit digital I/O port. An optional opto-isolated version provides isolation for all front panel and rear I/O connections. One Stop Systems' serial board is fully software configurable (jumperless) and compatible with standard PC type serial ports. All software drivers are included. The four high performance UART channels are fully compatible with 16C550-type devices. The J2 connector on the rear of the board contains the four high-speed channels as well as eight discrete TTL level iputs, eight TTL outputs and a differential clock output. The faceplate contains LEDs for each channel as well as a power LED.

One Stop Systems’ Quad High-Speed Serial Board with Rear I/O offers developers multiple high speed serial ports with the advantage of utilizing CompactPCI’s rear I/O functionality. This gives designers access to serial outputs through the rear of the enclosure without having to run cabling from the front panel.

Two ports can be accessed through two DB9 connectors on the front panel and two ports can be accessed through the rear J2 connector or all four ports can be accessed through the J2 connector. The front panel contains send and receive LEDs for each channel.
