The CompactPCI Express (CPCIe) switch board provides fan-out of CPCIe peripheral slots in a PICMG EXP.0 compliant backplane. The switch board interfaces with one upstream CPCIe master slot and seven downstream CPCIe peripheral slots. The switch board provides an additional connector for expansion via a PCIe cable. The downstream cable connection may be connected to other PCIe devices or to expansion chassis utilizing a PCIe cable interface. Plug the switch board into the backplane to maintain the benefits of a passive CPCIe backplane.
