The adapter adds high-speed PCI Express (PCIe) expansion capabilities to laptops.
Communication from the x1 PCI Express lanes
is done through a pair of connectors on each
ExpressCard cable adapter, the PCMCIA defined
ExpressCard Connector on the laptop side, and
the x1 PCI Express Connector defined by PCISIG
on the cable side.
